Pattern 190: the Huntsman Case Hardened that ranks 747th and sells anyway

The ★ Huntsman Knife | Case Hardened runs about $380 Factory New and $140 Battle-Scarred. Like every Case Hardened it rolls one of 1001 paint seeds, and the collector's game is to chase the blue.

The most famous Huntsman seed in the game is not blue. It is 190, and it is famous for something else.

What you are looking at

Pattern 190 held in first person: the blue mark on the blade with two round blue spots below it.
The play side, which is the only side that matters in a round.

Held in first person, the blue on the blade resolves into a shape, and the shape is anatomical: a rounded blue mass by the serrations, a narrow streak running down from it, two round blue marks below.

It trades under every name that suggests: the d**k pattern, Blue Balls, D**kHardened. Written DIH it is the same seed — that is just the spelling that survives a trading site's word filter.

The fourth name is the McSkillet pattern, after the CS:GO YouTuber who first put it in front of an audience and whose own copy has changed hands several times since his death in 2018.

A joke seed that has held its value longer than most serious ones.

The part nobody mentions: the Huntsman is mirrored

Genitalia patterns turn up across Case Hardened items. What makes 190 the one people quote is that on a Huntsman the print lands the same on both faces of the blade — so it is there in the hand, not just as a back-side accident you find while spinning the knife.

That is measurable. The blue-gem colour data this site uses reports the play side and the back side separately: seed 190 is 21.79% blue on the play side and 21.91% on the back, a gap of 0.12 points.

Nor is it a fluke of one seed. Across all 1001 Huntsman patterns the two sides differ by an average of 0.09 points, never more than 0.56. The same check on a Karambit gives an average gap of 27.67 points, on a Talon 32.76. Almost every knife paints its two faces independently. The Huntsman does not.

It is not a blue gem, and that is the point

Rank the 1001 seeds by play-side blue and 190 comes in 747th, at 21.79% blue against 58.81% gold — a below-average roll by everything the blue-gem market measures. Seed 618, the consensus number one, is 76.49% blue and asks on it sit at $15,000–$20,000. Seed 190 has never been in that conversation. It sells on recognition.

What it has actually sold for

Thin data, all of it old, because these trade privately. The community guide counted roughly six registered copies and logged a $1,500 BitSkins sale in June 2020, a $2,000 offer on the highest float, a reported €5,000 offer on the lowest, and the McSkillet knife moving on BUFF for around $2,100 in August 2022. A $4,200.69 headline from 2021 turned out to be a package deal.

Folklore rather than a price — but the shape of it is clear: a few-hundred-dollar knife repeatedly changing hands for four figures over a number in its paint data.

Checking one yourself

The live population is one link away: seed 190 in the CSFloat database. Change paintSeed and the same query answers for any pattern.

Two things if you are buying. No marketplace prices a seed — every chart, ours included, prices Huntsman Knife | Case Hardened (Field-Tested) and nothing finer, so a premium is negotiated rather than quoted. And wear barely matters, because the shape is a print on the blade: a Battle-Scarred 190 reads much like a Factory New one at a third of the base cost.

So know the base before anyone quotes a premium on top of it. Sync your inventory here and the plain skin is priced across four marketplaces daily — and if you are selling, what each market takes in fees moves the number more than people expect.
